Full Throttle Ahead
ABOUT FULL THROTTLE
Tata Motors Full Throttle was launched in February 2011 as an initiative to promote motorsport in India. The initiative has the dual goal of promoting motorsport and proving the capability of Tata Motors' vehicles in a rigorous, competitive environment. Full Throttle will function as an umbrella brand, competing in existing rallies and races as well as organising its own off-road and motorport activities.
At the time of Full Throttle's conception, Mr. R. Ramakrishnan, Vice President, Commercial- Passenger Car Business Unit, Tata Motors, noted that "with best in class technologies in our product range, we will now be able to showcase these technologies through Tata Motors Full Throttle. The platform will help the company in organising and synergising all efforts and activities in the area of motorsports including development and testing."
In 2011, Team Full Throttle began its journey by participating and attaining top positions in the 3 most reputed rallies in India: Desert Storm, Dakshin Dare and Raid De Himalaya. They further continued with their winning streak in Eastern Mountain Safari rally and the Hornbill International Motor rally. These rallies have helped Tata Motors test its leading technology and reliability. And they plan to continue improving the same by participating in more rallies across the world.
In 2012, Tata Motors Full Throttle launched a series of driving experiences for owners of Tata utility vehicles. These experiences titled the Himalayan Experience, Konkan Experience, Jungle Experience, Thar Experience, Kutch Experience and Nilgiri Experience span the best drives across diverse terrains that are unique to India. Participants in these expeditions will experience the breathtaking beauty of these drives and the capability of their vehicles with logistical, medical and service support from Tata Motors.
Motorsport is universally recognized as one of the most technologically-advanced, challenging and exciting competitive activities; it is also one of the most widely followed sports in the world. As a leading automotive company, it is in Tata Motors' natural interest to participate in motorsport, and to educate and promote motorsport in India. To this end, Full Throttle aims to provide a platform for motorsport enthusiasts to learn about, discuss and experience the thrill of motorsport.
