Team Full Throttle heads to Rangdum
Saturday, October 15, 2011
Tata Motorsâ€â"¢ Team Full Throttle maintained its strong start in Leg 2 of the 2011 Raid de Himalaya, but faced a stern test in Leg 3â€â"¢s 441 km. journey from Dalhousie to Srinagar. Official Leg 2 results confirmed that Tata Motors vehicles led the Pro Stock Expert SUV, Pro Stock Amateur SUV and Stock Amateur SUV classes of the 2011 Adventure trial. The team also locked up 3 of the top 5 positions (2nd, 3rd and 5th) in the overall Adventure trial standings.
However, the team experienced its first hiccups in Leg 3 from Dalhousie to Srinagar. Leg 3 saw almost half the participating vehicles facing breakdowns, and Tata Motorsâ€â"¢ Team Full Throttle also suffered from tyre problems due to harsh terrain on the route from Pepdi to Anantnag. Sadly, the extreme delay caused by a technical snag led to the retirement of a Tata Xenon and Tata Vista that were leading their categories. The rest of the team continued strongly, however, with the Tata Safari continuing to lead the Pro Stock Expert SUV category.
Leg 4 of the route starts from Srinagar and then follows Sonamarg - Zojila Pass - Drass - Kargil - Panikher - Parkachik to finish at Rangdum.
